Point Mobile, a leading provider of industrial mobile devices, is supplying 1,200 units
of its high-performance tablet “TR54” for Jeju’s next-generation payment infrastructure project.
This initiative aims to enhance Jeju’s payment system by introducing Korea’s first platform
that supports both contactless credit card payments and QR-based direct payments.
In partnership with global payment providers, the project seeks to improve payment accessibility for both domestic and international tourists.
Point Mobile is collaborating with KSNET and RM Tech through major ICT distributors to deliver the devices
and plans to expand the solution to local businesses and tourist facilities.
The TR54 tablet features an 11-inch FHD display, integrated barcode scanner, Android 15 OS, IP65-rated dust and water resistance,
and rugged durability capable of withstanding 1.2m to 1.5m drops. These specifications make it suitable not only for public transport
but also for various outdoor and industrial applications, including logistics, public services, healthcare, mini POS systems, and in-vehicle deployments such as police and forklift operations.
A company spokesperson stated, “Leveraging our expertise in industry-specific customization,
Point Mobile is entering the smart payment infrastructure market following our success in the Japanese automotive diagnostic sector. The TR54 meets the technical requirements of Jeju’s smart payment system and is expected to drive further demand as the payment network expands.”
